The beginning of our story ...
I'm Elodie, the baker of MJ's Bake Shop. MJ stands for Marie Josephine my second and third names. Welcome to my little eco friendly, quirky, sugary world.
It is hard to find the beginning of my love for cakes and food in general. When I was a child my parents had several restaurants and we used to travel with the "Red Guide", stopping at the best gastronomic restaurants advised. I guess it began like this, baby me eating the most exquisite French food :)
I watched my Italian nonna and my mother prepare meals for the family, sometimes I was allowed to help. I loved licking the bowl of chocolate cake batter ...
After studying History in college, the infamous question popped. What next?
I had been experimenting "pâtisserie" on my own in my kitchen, dreaming of macarons and rose Saint-Honoré. My friends and family were my testers and encouraging even more.
I decided in 2012 to see if what I had learned on my own was correct. I joined a culinary art program at the Institut Paul Bocuse.
In 2014, I dreamed of my own business. Then I created MJ's Bakery during a winter night. Finally in 2016 I changed the name to MJ's Bake Shop and designed the final logo and redefined the concept.
Here I am writing this on my new web site, so excited for all the many sweet and glittery adventures to come ...
